  2. NW Huntersville Thoroughfare Study Phase 2 - 3rd Public Meeting

    October 10, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Lee S. Dukes Water Treatment Plant

The Town of Huntersville is hosting the 3rd drop-in public workshop for the NW Huntersville Transportation Study Phase 2 that is aimed at defining alignments for future roadways in this area. In the spring of 2017, the Town, in partnership with the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization and consultants began further analysis of where future roadways should be located in NW Huntersville and how provisions for bicyclists and pedestrians should occur. This study is known as the NW Huntersville Transportation Study, Phase 2. The study was placed on hold pending decisions by NCDOT on their configuration for NC 73 under the widening scheduled to begin in 2023. The technical team consensus recommendation of option C-3 for future roadways will be shown at this workshop. Its also available on the town's website. Commissioners will discuss this alignment October 21st board meeting and may make a recommendation for a decision by CRTPO (the final deciding body.)
