Town and County Seek Residents Feedback on Community Development Block Grant Funding Priorities

Mecklenburg County is developing the 2020-2025 Consolidated Plan that will inform Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program investments for the next five years. We invite local residents to provide your input on the  community development needs for your neighborhoods.

Your participation will help the County set CDBG priorities around housing, public improvements, economic development, and other essential services!  These priorities play into the activities the Town can seek funding for on a local basis.

The CDBG funds received by the County must be used for activities that benefit low- and moderate-income persons. In addition, each activity must meet one of the following national objectives for the program: benefit low- and moderate-income persons, prevention or elimination of slums or blight, or address community development needs having a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community for which other funding is not available.

How to participate?  Attend an open house or complete the community needs survey, details below.

Open Houses

  • Monday, November 18, 2019, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Ada Jenkins Center, located at 212 Gamble St, Davidson, NC 28036

Or

  • Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Matthews Community Center (Conference Room 104), located at: 100 E McDowell St, Matthews, NC 28105
