Calling all ages! Ever want to try weaving, mosaic art, painting murals, or making ceramic art? Come help design multiple art projects for the local Huntersville community. These murals & interactive pieces will be made at Hello Huntersville with help from all ages of the community and be placed where Huntersville can continue to enjoy what they helped create! Bring your friends and family to make your own life size image using the famous children’s toy “pin art” with Charlotte artist Lee Baumgarten. Piece together a mural of rural Huntersville making butterflies and flowers with Edith Covarrubias. Place mosaic pieces to form our two new bus stop benches for 115 in downtown with Teresa Hollmeyer. Free art lessons on canvases can be found with Stephen Lursen. Make any design you want in ceramic art with Clayworks. Paint a ceramic tile of “What Does Huntersville Mean to You” with Atrium Health and the Huntersville Public Art Commission. Come ready to shop for Mother’s day with local art vendors as they display their talents selling their artistic mediums in wood, glass, art, clay, jewelry, and more.
The streets will be filled with unique performances and roaming entertainment! Come and join in the drum circle and learn the rhythm and music of African American drumming. Try different musical instruments with Bach to Rock. Hula Hoop with Flow 1212, and watch POI dancers sing and dance. Laugh and have fun with the strolling puppeteers. Don’t let the jugglers fool you with all of their tricks. Walk with your group through the colorful ribbon dancers!
