Household garbage should be disposed of in the grey curbside container. It is picked up once a week by Waste Connections. Waste Connections utilizes fully automated curbside waste collection, so please follow the guidelines outlined below when curbing your roll-out.
Place your containers curbside by 7:00am on your collection day. Please leave space between the carts of 3 feet.
Leave 2 feet between the container and a stationary object such as a mailbox.
Bag your trash. Trash that is not bagged can end up on the ground and in yards. Keep your neighborhood beautiful.
Place your roll-out container within 4 feet of the road. Do not place the roll-out next to your mailbox.
Make sure it is clear of trees and overhanging limbs.
Make sure the wheels of your roll-out are away from the road (the lid hinge should be placed away from the road).
Make sure your lid is open no more than 12 inches above the rim.
Excess trash should not be places on top of the can or around it. We will only dump trash that is within your can.
If you have additional bags of trash for pickup, you may contact the Huntersville Engineering & Public Works Department to schedule a bulk pick-up at 704-875-7007. Please be advised there is a fee associated with this service.
Household garbage that does not meet the above criteria will be tagged as non-compliant. If the resident makes household garbage conform, it will be collected at the next regularly scheduled pick-up.
