Household garbage should be disposed of in the grey curbside container. It is picked up once a week by Waste Connections. Waste Connections utilizes fully automated curbside waste collection, so please follow the guidelines outlined below when curbing your roll-out.
- Place your containers curbside by 7:00am on your collection day. Please leave space between the carts of 3 feet.
- Leave 2 feet between the container and a stationary object such as a mailbox.
- Bag your trash. Trash that is not bagged can end up on the ground and in yards. Keep your neighborhood beautiful.
- Place your roll-out container within 4 feet of the road. Do not place the roll-out next to your mailbox.
- Make sure it is clear of trees and overhanging limbs.
- Make sure the wheels of your roll-out are away from the road (the lid hinge should be placed away from the road).
- Make sure your lid is open no more than 6 inches above the rim.
- Excess trash should not be places on top of the can or around it. We will only dump trash that is within your can.
- If you have additional bags of trash for pickup, you may contact the Huntersville Engineering & Public Works Department to schedule a bulk pick-up at 704-875-7007. Please be advised there is a fee associated with this service.
Non-Compliant Trash
- Household garbage that does not meet the above criteria will be tagged as non-compliant. If the resident makes household garbage conform, it will be collected at the next regularly scheduled pick-up.
