The Town of Huntersville provides household garbage, yard waste and recycling collection as a service to residents. Solid waste and recycling collection is handled by a private contractor, Waste Connections.
- Each residence has a one grey container (household garbage), one green container (yard waste) and one blue container (recycling).
- Household and yard waste are collected once a week on the same day. Recycling is collected bi-weekly (A week/B week) on the same day. See the maps listed below or visit the GeoPortal to learn about your collection day.
- All containers must be curbside by 7:00am on your collection day. Waste Connections is not responsible if your container is not curbside.
- Trash and recycling services are paid through taxes. Residents may purchase additional containers for a fee by contacting Waste Connections.
- Do not place household hazardous waste, hot coals or charcoal in your curbside containers.
- Residents should contact Waste Connections at 704-596-9428 regarding any issues with trash/recycling service or containers. Huntersville Town Hall can be contacted at 704-875-6541 regarding service issues.
