|Beatties Ford Road/Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road Small Area Plan||This plan offers a number of transportation and land use recommendations, including retail/commercial development at the intersection of Beatties Ford Road and Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road; low and medium density residential development along Beatties Ford Road; and a mixed use low intensity “urban village”, immediately adjacent to the Long Creek Elementary School. An important component is the creation of a new street network, which will accommodate both local and regional traffic demand. Under the plan, Beatties Ford Road will transform into a signature four-lane boulevard gateway into Huntersville, lined with shop-front buildings, street trees and sidewalks, creating a safe and attractive pedestrian friendly environment.||Beatties Ford Road/Mt. |Clarke Creek Small Area Plan||The Clarke Creek Small Area Plan is a long-range land use and transportation plan that will guide future land use, transportation, and infrastructure investment decisions by the Town, developers, and property owners. This plan is being developed in response to anticipated development.||Clarke Creek Area - west of Metrolina, South of Huntersville-Concord Road.||This small area plan is currently being studied. |Davidson-Concord Road/NC 73 Area Plan||The northern area of Mecklenburg County is sought after for its good quality of life, small town atmosphere and rural landscape. Recent development pressures in the area are threatening the rural landscape, agricultural sustainability, especially in the Davidson-Concord Road area. Decisions to build a high school and plans for a new road have prompted the Towns of Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville to develop a cohesive strategy for land use, transportation, and economic development in the study area.||Davidson-Concord Road area at NC 73||This plan was accepted December 15, 2008.|

|Downtown Huntersville Transportation System Plan (DHTSP)||The purpose of the DHTSP will be to inventory, analyze and assess the existing transportation system within the Downtown and determine what improvements (both operational and capital) will be required to accommodate growth and development anticipated over the next 10-15 years. The plan will study all modes of transportation, including both motorized (vehicular, public transit and rail) and non-motorized (pedestrian and bicycle) and analyze future transportation system operations based upon a “build-out” land development scenario for the downtown.||Downtown Huntersville - see link for Study Area in "Status" section to the right.||At a Special Meeting held on October 6th, the Town Board received an update from Stantec Consulting, the firm preparing the Downtown Transportation System Plan for the Town. The presentation by Stantec included a summary of public input received to date, along with a detailed description of the current and projected year 2030 operation of the downtown transportation system based on projected development, together with preliminary options for accommodating future growth and development within the downtown. |Downtown Master Plan||This plan includes a number of recommendations and implementation strategies for the development of the downtown over the next 20 years, covering such areas as transportation, traffic circulation, parking; civic infrastructure; private development; marketing and branding. The Downtown Master Plan is intended to guide public and private development initiatives during this planning timeframe and insure the creation of a vibrant town center that will be the defining place and image for the Town of Huntersville.||The intersection of NC 115 (Old Statesville Road) and Gilead Road and the surrounding area||This plan was adopted February 6, 2006.|

|NC 73 Small Area Land Use and Economic Development Plan||This plan is a joint undertaking of the Towns of Huntersville, Davidson, Concord, Kannapolis and Cabarrus County, which addresses land use and economic development issues along NC73 between Davidson-Concord Road and Poplar Tent Road. This multi-jurisdictional small area plan includes detailed recommendations for future land uses and transportation networks.||Approximately 1,800 acres along NC 73 from Davidson-Concord Road to Poplar Tent Road||This plan was adopted on June 19, 2006.|

|NC 73 Transportation/Land Use Corridor Plan||This plan is a coordinated land use and multi-modal transportation plan for a 35 mile corridor, integrating local land use plans with strategic regional transportation needs. The plan is the by-product of a coordinated, multi-jurisdictional transportation and land use planning effort, involving 3 counties, 5 municipalities, 3 chambers of commerce, 2 metropolitan planning organizations, 1 rural planning organization, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). This plan represents the first wide-scale effort by NCDOT to integrate land use and transportation planning, recognizing the essential linkage between the two.||Various regions along NC 73||A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to endorse this plan was adopted on July 19, 2004.|

|Rich Hatchett Road Community Neighborhood Plan||This plan represents a collaborative effort of the Rich Hatchett community and the Town of Huntersville Planning Department. The plan addresses existing and proposed land uses within the study area and offers recommendations and land use guidelines for preservation of the residential character of the community, as well as the future growth and development of this community and surrounding area, consistent with this character.||Rich Hatchett Road neighborhood and a portion of Statesville Road and the properties across Statesville Road||This plan was approved on August 17, 1998.|

|Town of Huntersville Strategic Economic Development Plan (SEDP)||The SEDP is intended to provide a town-wide economic development strategy which promotes job creation, private investment and tax base expansion, while maintaining a high quality of life, including preservation and enhancement of the Town’s natural, scenic, cultural and historic assets. The Town Board unanimously adopted the Town of Huntersville Strategic Economic Development Plan (SEDP) at its October 20th meeting.
The SEDP is intended to guide the Town’s economic development strategy for the next 10-15 years, and includes socioeconomic, real estate market, industry target and cluster analyses, along with an implementation strategy to achieve the policies and recommendations contained in the plan. The SEDP implementation strategy is focused on the following:
The SEDP was prepared by RKG Associates, Inc, an economic, planning and real estate consulting firm with offices located in Alexandria, Virginia, Dallas, Texas and Dover, New Hampshire.
