As part of the development plan review process, the Engineering and Public Works Department reviews all development plans, driveway permit applications, and encroachment permit applications.
Currently, Mecklenburg County's Land Use and Environmental Services Agency (LUESA) assists the Town with a major portion of the engineering plan review.
Driveway Permit Applications are needed for all new or proposed modifications to multi-family or commercial driveway connections to Town-maintained public streets.
NCDOT-maintained public streets require an NCDOT Driveway Permit for all new or proposed modifications to multi-family or commercial driveway connections.
Encroachment Permits are required for any work proposed within the Town’s maintained right-of-way. Complete the Encroachment Agreement Application and submit the completed agreement along with plans for each site via email to: kgarton@huntersville.org or kbehrenbrinker@huntersville.org for review and approval.
