Prosperity Church Rd. Extension / Asbury Chapel Rd. Relocation / Verhoeff Dr. Extension - Corridor Study
Over 120 residents attended the June 13, 2006 public workshop at Asbury United Methodist Church for the Asbury Chapel Road Relocation between Trails End Lane and Ramah Church Road.
Bill Coxe of the Town of Huntersville opened the meeting by providing a project overview. Bill responded to questions from meeting attendees, and attached is a summary of the question and answer session.
Mr. Coxe introduced Lynn Purnell of Parsons Brinckerhoff Quade & Douglas, Inc., a member of the consultant team assisting the Town on this study. Mr. Purnell made a presentation on Context Sensitive Solutions, a planning approach being used in this project.
Workshop participants divided into four groups to gather around aerial photos of the study area. They identified key elements for Town and consultant staff to consider in planning the possible relocation of Asbury Chapel Road. Attached is a summary of the major points made by the four groups following the break-out sessions.
Meeting attendees also completed surveys to obtain opinions of area residents about the proposed road and to identify what areas should be avoided. Attached is a summary of the surveys submitted by 50 workshop participants.
