In an effort to fight underage consumption and deaths to youth from alcohol-related incidents, the Huntersville Police Department has joined with the police departments of Cornelius and Davidson, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Mecklenburg County Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) in creating the Underage Consumption Task Force to combat underage drinking.
Recognizing the ease of using email, the task force has created a new email address to report underage drinking, locations selling to underage persons and locations where parties are taking place where underage persons will have access to alcohol. The new email address is reportunderagedrinking@cmpd.org. This serves as a central email and all members of the task force receive messages sent there. This allows for both the local force and the larger task force to be aware of underage drinking issues as they emerge and seek methods to stop these activities from occurring.
