Youth and Seniors Activity Scholarship Application

Policy:

It is the policy of the Town of Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department to provide recreational opportunities to all the residents of Huntersville.  Some programs require the payment of a fee to cover the expenses incurred by offering the program.  Realizing the need to include all residents in these opportunities, the Town of Huntersville will offer financial assistance to the youth and seniors of Huntersville meeting the guidelines listed in this document.  The number of scholarships will be offered to twenty percent (20%) of the spaces available in each program.  The twenty percent (20%) of spaces available for scholarships will be split in half between the fifty percent (50%) discounted rate and the twenty-five percent (25%) discounted rate.  If all scholarships are not used by the end of the registration period those who received scholarships may receive the original discounted rate of 75% and 50% until all discounted funds are used up for that particular program.  All residents will be required to pay a portion of the fee for each program. There will be no full scholarships given by the Town of Huntersville for any Parks and Recreation activity. One scholarship per household per program, unless there are unused scholarships for that particular program at the end of registration, which then will be given out by first-come first-served basis. Applicants will be required to provide proof of income with the most current W-2 form or official documentation from CMS of meeting eligibility standards for financial assistance.  Failure to provide this information will void this application.
