Request for Proposals - Fire Station Design
8/15/2005

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
By the Town of Huntersville, NC for Architectural Services for The Design of a Fire Station

Introduction: The Town of Huntersville (Town) requests proposals from qualified Architectural Firms for the Design of a New Fire Station. Upon review of proposals received in response to this Request for Proposal (RFP), the Town of Huntersville anticipates awarding a single contract for the services required.

Project Description: The new Huntersville Station will be located on Eastfield Road and will serve the eastern Huntersville area. It is expected the architect will work with the Town to determine the number of bays to house apparatus. The interior will include some sleep rooms and a training/classroom area. The new station will be designed for future expansion. The Town will build this station for use by a volunteer fire department with later conversion to a municipal paid station. The Town is also working with another Town volunteer fire department that will construct a station financed by that department at the same time in southeast Huntersville. It is anticipated that the other station design may be substantially similar to the station constructed by Huntersville. The Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department will select an architect for that facility design.
