Camp Counselor
Salary: $8.00- $ 8.50 per hour

Camp Counselors assist the Camp Director with the implementation of the Summer Day Camp Program. General work hours may vary, but will work an eight hour(8)-work shift Monday thru Friday starting from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. Work is performed under moderate supervision of Camp Director. First Aid / CPR training will be provided.

Position assists in planning, scheduling and coordinating programs and activities for children; works with children directly to organize activities, games, field trips, arts and crafts, etc.

Parks & Recreation Summer Internship
Summer internship position works under direct supervision of the Athletic Coordinator.

The Department only provides internships to students in a Parks and Recreation, Leisure Studies or related curriculum from an accredited college or university. Internships will be handled in the same manner as a job application. This includes a drug screening and criminal background check.

Intern will be expected to work 40 hours per week, which may include evenings and/or weekends. This schedule can be modified to fulfill course requirements that meet the needs of the intern and their respective college or university.

Parks Repair Tech
(temporary full-time with NO Benefits)
Starting Salary: $24,574

This is a temporary full-time position for a period of up to 6 months with no benefits. Ideal candidate should have knowledge in all aspects of general park maintenance including but not limited to the following: dragging, lining, & leveling ball fields, plumbing, painting, basic carpentry work, tree maintenance, playground repairs, and etc. Work includes operating equipment such as a gator, tractor, box blade auger, spreader, aerator, sprayer, front-end loader, backhoe, dump truck, and etc. Previous park maintenance experience preferred. Normal working hours are Tuesday - Saturday. Reports to the Park Crew Leader. OPEN UNTIL FILLED.

Police Officer
Salary: $34,580 + DOE and educational level with a 5% increase at the end of a successful 6-month probation period. Excellent benefits package including 401-K and tuition reimbursement.

Requirements: The Huntersville Police Department strives to be recognized as one of North Carolina’s finest law enforcement agencies and a model of excellence in the delivery of professional, innovative and progressive police services. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Community Policing philosophy and an understanding of the SARA model of problem solving. Must be able to make sound decisions in dealing with emergency and non-emergency situations. Job requires extensive public contact in which officer must relate professionally with students, citizens, business owners and sometimes, the media. Applicants must be BLET certified at the time the application is received. Also, accepting out of state applicants who are currently sworn as a Law Enforcement Officer with at least two years of experience. Must be able to pass all phases of the hiring process, including oral board, background investigation, psychological and physical examinations, polygraph test and drug screening.

Summer Sports Camp Counselor
(open until filled)
Pay Rate: $8.00 per hour

Position works under direct supervision of the Athletic Coordinator. Will assist the camp instructor at weekly assigned sports camps. General work hours may vary, but normal work schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

Position is responsible for signing children in and out during drop off and pick up periods, supervising children during breaks, maintaining on site roster for children in camp and notifying Athletic Coordinator of accidents, incidents, disciplinary action and other circumstances of concern.
