The Town of Huntersville has initiated a planning study to evaluate the transportation needs in the northwest area of Huntersville, specifically focusing on how Ervin Cook Road, Hugh Torance Parkway and Birkdale Commons Parkway alignments connect to NC 73.

The first public engagement event (open house) for this project was held on June 20, 2017 with over 200 participants in attendance. In addition to the event, the Town of Huntersville administered an online survey that reached over 900 individuals. These were designed to find out what area residents and stakeholders value about transportation choice, facilities and connectivity. A summary of survey results and additional information on the project is available online at

A second and final Open House (see attached flyer) is scheduled for October 19, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 8:00pm (Drop-in anytime) at the Charlotte Water Dukes Treatment Plant (7980 BABE STILLWELL FARM ROAD, HUNTERSVILLE, NC 28078). Please mark your calendars to join us and review the technical analysis and the results of your involvement to help select proper alignments, design, and connections for a comprehensive system of future road, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities for our town.
