What is the Regional Transit Engagement Series?
As one of the fastest growing regions in the country, there is recognition that long-term transit planning efforts should be accelerated to remain a globally competitive region. The Metropolitan Transit Commission and Centralina COG have partnered to engage government and business leaders to determine local and regional mobility needs and future aspirations.
How Transporation/Transit Stakeholders Can Get Involved
An opinion survey is underway to better understand public and stakeholder attitudes about future transit options. A geographically and demographically diverse sample of the public has been surveyed. The survey covers six North Carolina counties (Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, and Union) and part of upstate SC (urbanized area of York and Lancaster counties).
Interested and engaged transportation stakeholders are invited to take the survey from their personal perspective. The results from the survey will be analyzed seperately from the public opinion survey. The survey can be accessed here: http://bit.ly/COGTransitSurvey. The stakeholder survey will remain open until midnight on November 17, 2017.
