The Town of Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting "A Huntersville Christmas
", presented by Priority Honda, in downtown Huntersville on Saturday, December 10, from 5-8 p.m.
This FREE event is open to the public. Once again ,we are partnering with Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen in Huntersville and collecting canned goods during the event. We are asking that families bring a small donation of canned broths, canned fruit, canned vegetables, or gallon sized tea bags to donate to the Soup Kitchen (no outdated items please.) There will be decorated boxes at locations throughout the event to collect your donations. Please help us spread the holiday spirit to others in need this time of year.
Another great way to give back this time of year is by donating new toys for all ages! Each year the Huntersville Police Department does a toy drive for the underprivileged in our community. New and unwrapped toys are needed for all ages and will be collected at the Police Department where Story Time with Mrs. Claus is located.
Downtown Huntersville will be transformed into a magical Winter Wonderland complete with a SNOW slide for the family to enjoy, sponsored by CMC Huntersville!
Come out to this community event and join in the festive celebrations. Other activities planned for all ages include pony rides, clown bounce, a carousel, ferris wheel, train rides, rapid slide, swing ride and a hay ride. For older children and teens there will be a rock climbing wall and bonfire at the Caboose / Huntersville Market. Crafts will be organized by Discovery Place Kids in the Town Center along with a coloring contest. Children can meet Santa at the Fire Department, watch and participate with the Davidson Jugglers, write letters to Santa and have their faces painted!
Special features this year include Mrs. Claus, who will read aloud popular holiday stories at the Huntersville Police Department. A magic show will be performed at 6 & 7p.m. at the Huntersville Town Hall and Radio Disney will also be on-site with a live radio remote. At the Fire Department Bill Turner, author of The Christmas That Almost Wasn't, will be hosting a book signing. Huntersville Presbyterian Church will again perform a Live Nativity Scene located at Huntersville Presbyterian Church. Show times are 5:30, 6:15, and 7:00pm and will be conducted by youth group members.
There will be a wide variety of acts performing on stage in between the Fire Station and the parking garage. The acts include: The Huntersville Elementary Chorus, Blythe Elementary School Chorus, Torrence Creek Show Biz Kidz, Independence Hill Baptist Church, and in between each act Terpsichore’s Dance Centre will perform various dance routines. To wrap up the evening, the teen band “Elia” will perform beginning at 7:10pm.
For those looking to shop, the Huntersville Market will be open featuring local businesses and craft booths. For those looking for great food, downtown restaurants such as Lupie’s and Café 100 invite you for dinner. There will also be hot dogs, nachos, pretzels and more being sold by local vendors throughout the event. So come hungry!
Parking is available at Huntersville Elementary School, Huntersville Presbyterian, First Baptist Church of Huntersville, Huntersville Associate Reformed Presbyterian, and the parking deck at the Town Center (accessed ONLY off the Gilead Road entrance.)

, as traffic will be blocked on HWY 115 from Mt. Holly Huntersville Rd to Gilead, and on Huntersville-Concord Rd from HWY 115 to Main Street beginning at 3pm. Those not attending A Huntersville Christmas are encouraged to avoid the downtown area during the time of the event
