The Town of Huntersville is currently in the process of hiring a new Chief of Police (see job ad and link to employment profile below) and as part of this process, we're seeking feedback from residents as to the values and characteristics they hope to see in our next Police Chief.

Chief of Police

The Town of Huntersville (pop. 50,141) is seeking a Chief of Police to lead a department of 83 sworn officers and 10 civilian staff. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration or related field. Master’s Degree is preferred. Advanced training through the Southern Police Institute or FBI National Academy is preferred. At least five years of strong technical and leadership experience in command or upper management in a law enforcement agency in a rapidly growing community. Proven track record of demonstrating mentorship, staff development, fairness and consistency.

Excellent benefits package including full medical/dental, retirement, 401(k) 5% employer contribution. Salary is negotiable depending on experience ($76,270 - $121,765).
