This Friday, Huntersville will host a 3D Technology Briefing entitled Rethink Manufacturing with 3D Printing as a follow up to one of the visits Mayor Jill Swain made on her economic development and relationship building trip she and other Southern US mayors made in May.
The event will be held at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the CPCC Merancas Campus located at 11930 Verhoeff Drive in Huntersville.
The SoZo Group, who facilitated the China trip, is sponsoring Friday’s technology briefing and has brought representatives from a 3D printer manufacturer the mayors visited in China and an international expert to discuss the technology’s commercialization and new innovations.
Nanjing Zijin-Lead Electronic Co. ltd – one of the leading manufacturers of 3D printers, will present a 3D printer and showcase some of the machine’s impressive capabilities. Nanjing Zijin-Lead has worked closely with educational and technical training centers to develop innovative uses for their technology as well as to train a workforce prepared to utilize this new way of making product.
In addition to the seminar and demonstration, the company has graciously agreed to donate a 3D printer to a Huntersville school. SoZo will choose the school and make the announcement during the seminar.
Mr. Graham Tromans, one of the world’s leading experts on the technology and Britain’s leading consultant in additive manufacturing, will join us to provide a briefing on the status of the technology’s commercialization and new innovations. Tromans is the Principal Consultant and President of G P Tromans Associates, and has over 24 years experience in automotive, aerospace, medical and consumer goods applications.
The Economist Magazine has called the advent of 3D technology as significant as the birth of “factories” in the manufacturing world. Leading business experts believe the potential of 3D printing in advanced manufacturing may create an American manufacturing renaissance.
The event sponsor, SoZo Group, is an investment advisory company working to create sustainable jobs by bridging business and cultural gaps between China and the US. SoZo introduces investments from China to suitable communities in the U.S. to drive local economic development. Nanjing Zijin-Lead, based in Nanjing, China, has chosen SoZo Group to assist it with bringing its innovative technology and manufacturing investment to the US. In May 2013, it was a host to a group of Southern Mayors recruiting industry and jobs to the US.
The 3D Seminar is a precursor to the first US-China Manufacturing Symposium, to be held in Dothan, Alabama, November 10-12 and the US-China Technology & Innovation Symposium the Town of Huntersville will host February 19-21, 2014.
