Huntersville Mayor Jill Swain will be in New York Thursday, April 18th to participate in the 3rd annual TFI-News US P3 Infrastructure Finance Forum 2013. She will be part of a panel discussion Thursday afternoon entitled: “Making P3’s Work in Transit.”

Joining Mayor Swain on the panel are: Tom Rousakis, Co-head of Transportation and Project Finance, Goldman Sachs & Financial Advisor to Chicago Transit Authority; Dao Dam Hieu, Project Director, Development, Keolis Group; Mike Schneider, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, HDR|InfraConsult; Richard Clarke, Assistant General Manager, Capital Programs, RTD Denver; and Charles-Andre Pronovost, Director, Structured Finance, Bombardier Transportation.

The session will be moderated by Jeff Parker, Senior Managing Director at Ernst & Young Infrastructure Advisors, LLC.

Specifically, Mayor Swain will speak to those in attendance about her work as Co-Chair of the Metropolitan Transit Commission (MTC) Transit Finance Working Group and the Red Line Regional Rail. She will also be working to meet with potential partners and investors in the Red Line.

The Red Line commuter rail project is a major regional economic development initiative in the Iredell County/Mecklenburg County Region of North Carolina. The Red Line Regional Rail will significantly improve the movement of both goods and passengers along a 25-mile section of track running south from Mooresville to Charlotte.

Delegates attending the forum range from NC DOT and other public sector organizations to engineers, banks and capital investment firms.

Other sessions at this forum will focus on P3 projects already in the pipeline and new sources for infrastructure funding.
