On December 6, 2016, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Commerce Station to celebrate Prairie Brookwood LLC’s plans to add a 324,480-square-foot warehouse to its existing 260,000-square-foot facility. Prairie Brookwood’s facility is leased by Pactiv, a company that produces food service disposals and food packaging.
Prairie Brookwood’s $14 million investment will include features such as 35 new loading docks and a structural steel frame with concrete tilt-up walls. Prairie Brookwood LLC’s relationship with towns of Huntersville, Cornelius, and Davidson spans over a decade when they built their first building in Commerce Station.
Graycor Construction Company is the Design-Build contractor for the expansion project. Graycor is a North American leader in managing new construction and interiors projects.
Representatives from the three North Mecklenburg towns, Pactiv, Prairie Brookwood LLC., Graycor Construction and Lake Norman Economic Development Corporation (LNEDC) were on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony.
