HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – The town of Huntersville is currently accepting applications for its seventh Huntersville 101 class in February 2017. The nine week program offers Huntersville residents and business owners a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about town departments, services and current projects underway.

The 2017 class begins on Wednesday, February 1st and will continue every Wednesday through March 29th. Program participants have the option of attending morning sessions from 10 a.m. to noon or evening sessions from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a meet and greet with the Mayor and Commissioners tentatively scheduled for the April 3rd  Town Board meeting.

Huntersville 101 is a beneficial program for prospective applicants seeking openings on town appointed boards and committees. Previous Huntersville 101 graduates have applied for and successfully been appointed to the Huntersville Planning Board; Board of Adjustment; Parks & Recreation Commission; and the Greenway, Trail and Bikeway Commission.

Huntersville 101 is open to Huntersville residents and space is limited to 20 participants in each class. If needed, a selection process will be used to balance the class. There is no cost.
