MEDIA RELEASE: Fatality Crash Investigation

HUNTERSVILLE, NC:

On Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 6:50 am, officers of the Huntersville Police Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles at the intersection of Sam Furr Road and Westmoreland Road. The crash involved a passenger car, a pick-up truck, and a cargo van. As a result of the crash, the driver of the passenger car was pronounced deceased at the scene by Mecklenburg County Medic. A juvenile passenger in the back seat of the passenger car was transported to Carolinas Medical Center by Mecklenburg County Medic with life-threatening injuries. The drivers of the cargo van and pick-up truck were also transported by Medic to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, the Huntersville Police Department is not releasing the names of the individuals involved in the crash. This crash is being investigated by the Huntersville Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section. The cause of the crash is still in the preliminary investigative stage and yet to be determined.
