In an effort to reduce traffic crashes, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will be installing guideposts at Gilead Road and Bayshore Plaza/Huntersville Square on Wednesday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Left turns and through movements onto Gilead Road from shopping center driveways will be restricted at this location by the guideposts.
The intersection will remain open at all times during construction. Motorists are encouraged to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through this area as there may be flagging operations.
The temporary guideposts will be replaced in the future by a concrete median as part of the Town of Huntersville’s U.S. 21 at Gilead Road project. This project will begin in late 2017 or early 2018.
