The K9 officers of the Huntersville Police Department play a vital role in serving this community. Now, German Shepherds Leia, Stihl, Vader, and Zeus will have life-saving body armor. LakeCross Veterinary recently purchased four bullet and stab protective vests for our K9 officers and donated them to the Huntersville Police Department. Each vest is embroidered with the message “Protecting those who protect us – a gift from Lakecross Veterinary.”

“These animals face danger just like our human officers,” said Sergeant Brian Vaughan of the Huntersville Police Department. “This donation of body armor vests will certainly save the life of one of these animals one day.”

Anyone requesting additional information should contact Sgt. Brian Vaughan at 704-464-5400.

“The Mission of the Huntersville Police Department, through a Community Policing Partnership, is to improve the quality of life and provide a sense of safety and security in our community, through the delivery of outstanding services with the highest standards of Honor, Professionalism, and Dedication to Duty.”
