  • This will be a busy weekend with lots of activity throughout Huntersville!  There are numerous 5K's and road races that will impact traffic throughout parts of Huntersville Saturday morning and Sunday morning through early afternoon.  The Huntersville Police Department will be on scene with these events to ensure safety of participants and motorists through affected areas.
  • Saturday:

    • The Girls on the Run Road Race form 7A-Noon may cause delays along Hambright, NC115 and US21.
    • The HFFA Kids Triathlon will also be taking place later that day along Verhoeff Drive.


    • The Jimmie Johnson Foundation 5k is taking place around the Newell Rubbermaid campus off NC73 and will send runners along Northcross Drive and into Birkdale Village Sunday morning beginning at 9 a.m.

    • The Huntersville Sprint Triathlon will start at 8 a.m. from HFFA with competitors swimming at HFFA, running along Verhoeff to Church Street/Holbrooks Rd/Central Ave and biking a 12.5 mile course from HFFA to US21 and Hambright, then primarily along Mount Holly-Huntersville Road as they loop to and through The Park-Huntersville back to Mount Holly-Huntersville and NC-115 to head back to HFFA.     • The Kilahpalooza family festival, sponsored by the Kilah Davenport Foundation, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CPCC Merancas Campus off Verhoeff Drive.
