Town Attorney Bob Blythe was recognized with the Roosevelt Wilson Award for public service by the Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg at a luncheon held last week at the Peninsula Club in Cornelius. Public servants from the towns of Cornelius and Davidson were also recognized.
Mayor Jill Swain also announced the honor at the November 5, 2012 Commissioners meeting and commended Mr. Blythe for his 49 years of service to the town, which was met with a round of applause from those in attendance.
Robert B. Blythe has represented the Town of Huntersville since May 24, 1963 when the Town Board appointed him as Town Attorney. Mr. Blythe was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 1961, after earning his A.B. degree from Davidson College, and his LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His attorney peer review rating with Martindale-Hubbell is AV Preeminent (5.0), which is a significant rating accomplishment, and a testament to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence. Mr. Blythe is dedicated to the Town of Huntersville and has provided 49 years of expert legal advice and representation to the Town Board, its public officials and employees on a broad range of issue.
