At their July 16th Town Board meeting, Huntersville Commissioners adopted bylaws for the creation of the Community of Huntersville Education Collaborative (CHEC). This new committee replaces the School Advisory Committee.

The Community of Huntersville Education Collaborative (CHEC) is established for the purpose of developing collaboration among community entities to enhance educational opportunities for Huntersville public school students.

The goal of CHEC is to better identify and communicate the needs of our schools and connect them with the opportunities and resources in the community in ways that are mutually beneficial for all parties involved, ultimately improving the overall quality of education in our community. To assist in that process, the CHEC will include appointees from all sectors of the town.

- Six (6) appointees representing our local schools
- Four (4) appointees representing our local non-profit community
- Four (4) appointees representing our business community

Applications can be downloaded by clicking HERE. If interested, please submit your application by Wednesday, September 12th to the Town Clerk.  Commissioners will make appointments at their September 17th board meeting.
